Home away from Home

This house was our family home for many years:  we love it and hope you will too. We’ve aimed to keep it simple, comfortable and welcoming – just right for a couple, two single guests, or a small family.

•  Both bedrooms have a queen bed;  one room can be swapped for a single bed on request and a single fold-out bed is also available.
• A large eat-in kitchen features extensive stainless steel benchtop prep areas,  an electric fan-forced oven and gas stovetop, a  refrigerator, dishwasher and coffee maker.
• The dining room seats six comfortably, and can double as a workspace.
• The compact bathroom includes a combination shower/bath, and houses  the washer and dryer.
• The entire house is kept comfortable year-round with ducted reverse cycle air conditioning. 
• Keep in touch with the world – if you want to – with the 50mbps internet connection and wifi. You can log into your own streaming accounts on the Smart TV, or use the free  iView and Catchup services.
• Our  secure rear courtyard  garden is private, leafy and a great place to spend time under the grapevine in summer – make use of the portable gas BBQ  and outdoor setting.  There’s room in the garden shed for a couple of bikes too.
• There is off-street driveway parking for one large or two smaller cars.

Our house is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the good life.

• King William Road, home to boutique clothing and homewares stores, with multiple fine and casual dining options, is just a 10 minute stroll away.
• Heywood Park, a beautiful open space boasting huge gumtrees, playgrounds and picnic spots, is just a few blocks south.
• Grocery shopping is a breeze, with three major shopping centres nearby, and plenty of smaller convenience shops within walking distance along Unley Road.
• Leisure time is taken care of – several major gyms are an easy distance,  Unley Oval is a short walk away, and  Mitcham Cinema Complex is 5 minutes by car. The Unley Swimming Centre, with outdoor lap swimming and children’s pools, is also just 10 minutes by car.
• Schools galore! If you’re staying with us while scouting for a permanent home in Adelaide, some of the state’s best public and private schools are in this vicinity: Scotch College, Walford, Concordia, Glenunga International High School, and Unley High, in addition to kindergartens and primary schools.
• For film industry people, Glenside Studios, home of the SAFC, is a 10 minute bike ride away.
• The CBD is a 45 minute walk through the southern parklands – just 15 minutes by car, and not much longer by bike. A bus stop just 50 metres from the front door will take you directly to the heart of the city.

The rent is dependent on length of stay and number of occupants, and is calculated on a sliding scale – minimum two weeks and maximum 6 months, inclusive of linen, kitchenware, water, internet, and power up to 20kWh per day.

There is a cleaning fee on exit in addition to rent.  If you require a cleaner during your stay we can recommend one that we trust, and will leave you to discuss terms directly with them.

We do not provide a laundering service, as there is a washing machine and dryer in situ, but various pickup & delivery services are available should you prefer.

We regret that this is a cat-and-dog-free house, although assistance dogs are welcome and we are happy to discuss exceptional circumstances.
